Shock for Lekompo fans as Shebeshxt denied bail

POLOKWANE – Fans of Lekompo musician Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, popularly known as Shebeshxt, were left stunned on Monday after the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court denied him bail and remanded his case to 19 January 2026.

During the hearing, startling revelations emerged as the court confirmed that Shebeshxt allegedly forged the victim’s documents related to the withdrawal of a previous statement.

This was disclosed by Warrant Officer Phaladi Makolafrom the Limpopo Provincial Investigating Unit, who testified against the musician.

As a result of these allegations, the court indicated it will revisit several of Shebeshxt’s past cases that were previously withdrawn, as they may also involve forged signatures.

Shebeshxt is facing nine serious charges, including:Three counts of attempted murder,Assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, Negligent discharge of a firearm and Additional offences linked to violent conduct.

His latest arrest stems from an incident in Ladanna during the first week of October 2025, where he allegedly shot and injured two men who were reportedly approaching him to greet him.

Following Monday’s ruling, Shebeshxt will remain in custody until his next court appearance on 19 January 2026.
