R100,000 Reward for Side Tipper Trucks stolen by Two Zimbabwean Drivers

WITBANK-Police have launched an intensive manhunt for two Zimbabwean truck drivers accused of stealing side tipper trucks from a Witbank-based company.

The suspects, identified as Tendai Luke Tarwirei Nemukuyu (22) and Collen Mudhala (41), are believed to have fled with the vehicles early on Saturday morning, setting off a chain of events that has left the company and authorities scrambling for answers.

According to the company, the two drivers were entrusted with parking the trucks from Friday evening until Monday.

However, the duo allegedly left the premises around 01:00 AM on Saturday, disabling the trucks’ tracking systems shortly after departure. The last known location of the trucks, as per the vehicle tracking system, was at the company’s premises in Witbank.

The stolen trucks are a key part of the company’s operations, and their loss has caused significant disruption. Here are the details of the vehicles:First Truck:

  • Make/Model: 2022 Scania G460, white in color
  • Registration Number: KY 46 YG GP
  • Trailer: Trailmax, grey in color
  • Trailer Registration Numbers: LC 99 NN GP and LC 99 NR GP

Second Truck:

  • Registration Number: LL 03 LG GP
  • Trailer: Trailmax, blue in color
  • Trailer Registration Numbers: LL 23 RC GP and LL 23 PV GP

Authorities suspect that the stolen trucks could still be in South Africa, though there is also the possibility they may have been transported across the border into Zimbabwe. The police are working diligently to track down the suspects and recover the vehicles.

In a bid to encourage public assistance, the company has offered a reward of R50,000 for the successful recovery of each truck, meaning a total reward of R100,000 for both vehicles.
