POLOKWANE – A 43-year-old male driver was arrested on Monday morning on the N1 near Planknek in the Waterberg District for exceeding the speed limit.
According to the Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety, the man was caught driving a silver Volkswagen Polo at a shocking speed of 183km/h in a 120km/h zone.
Authorities confirmed that the suspect was immediately taken into custody and is expected to appear in court soon.
The Department further warned motorists that reckless driving and speeding will not be tolerated on Limpopo roads, especially with the high rate of crashes and fatalities recorded in the province.
