MATSHWI– A 30-year-old man, wanted in connection with the brutal murder of a 24-year-old female teacher assistant, has handed himself over to police in Diepsloot, Gauteng, following a week-long manhunt.

The suspect, whose name has not yet been officially released, turned himself in on Wednesday, 18 June 2025, after allegedly stabbing the young woman to death at Matshwi Village in the Bolobedu policing area, Limpopo.

According to a statement issued by the Office of the Provincial Commissioner: Limpopo, police were called to the scene around 07:00 that morning. Upon arrival, they found the lifeless body of the victim lying in a pool of blood, bearing multiple stab wounds.
