Minister Gayton McKenzie commits to buying 200 tickets for Makhadzi’s One Woman Show in Polokwane

POLOKWANE- The Minister of Art, Sports and Culture Gayton McKenzie has committed to buy 200 tickets for him and others to attend Makhadzi’s One Woman Show music concert at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in December. 

McKenzie, who is ministering the department that is responsible for the empowerment of artists in the country, made a hefty pledge to purchase 200 tickets after the award winning music sensation took to social media ranting about lack of support towards her One Woman Show, that is pitted on the 21st of December in Polokwane. 

Makhandzi’s rant was sparked by the quick selling of the internationally renowned RNB artist Chris Brown’s show that sold out FNB stadium’s 96 000 capacity which is South Africa’s largest stadium in just 2 hours, while her concert is still struggling to sell a stadium capacity of 45 500. 

” South Africa its a movie, so i must take 10 years to sell out Peter Mokaba Stadium, while you sold out Chris Brown’s show in hours” 

Her rants reached the ears of prominent figures such as minister Mckenzie and former UCT Vice-chancellor Mamokgethi Phakeng, who publicly confirmed their support.

Makhadzi will be looking to fill up the New Peter Mokaba Stadium with the help of the prominents music industry acts such as the legendary Zola 7, Sho Madjozi, Pleasure Tsa Manyalo, Nkosazana Daughter and others to be unveiled soon. 

Her Peter Mokaba One Woman Show has already sold out early bird tickets of R70, while more than 90% General phase 1 tickets are sold out.

Cassper Nyovest remains the only South African artist to fill up the Africa’s largest and world’s third largest FNB stadium with the attendance of 68 000.
