WINBURG – A 32-year-old male has been arrested after he allegedly stabbed his younger brother (21), fatally wounding him at their home in Winburg.
It is alleged that on Monday, 27 October 2025, at approximately 15:00 police were summoned to a scene of murder at Malekeketla. On arrival at the scene police discovered an African male lying motionless inside the house.
It is alleged that the 21-year-old victim was fatally stabbed three times by the suspect following an argument over a phone charger.
The victim was discovered with stab wounds on his mouth, chest, and shoulder. He subsequently succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead on the scene.
Police confiscated two knives found on the scene of crime.
The 32-year-old suspect initially fled the scene but was later traced and arrested by police. He is expected to appear before the Winburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 29 October 2025, on a charge of murder.
