MAHWELERENG – A 41-year-old man has been arrested for the fatal stabbing of his 34-year-old girlfriend at Ga-Malepetleke Village on Friday, 05 December 2025, at around 21:10.
According to preliminary reports, the victim was walking with a friend when the suspect, driving a maroon Nissan Micra, confronted her and accused her of infidelity.
An argument allegedly broke out, during which the suspect approached the woman and attacked her with a sharp object before fleeing.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel responded to the scene and declared the woman deceased upon arrival.
Police later arrested the suspect and recovered the weapon believed to have been used in the incident.
Authorities say the case is being treated as domestic-related, and investigations are continuing.
Limpopo Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, condemned the incident and urged community members to seek help when facing relationship conflict instead of resorting to violence.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Mahwelereng Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 08 December 2025, on a charge of murder.
