BOTLOKWA – A 66-year-old man accused of raping a 3-year-old girl has been revealed to be a pastor at Word of Life Global Ministries in Springs Village, Botlokwa.
The Morebeng Magistrate’s Court in Soekmekaar has postponed the bail application of Selaelo Justice Mongalo, who was arrested on 29 September 2025 in connection with the incident.
Mongalo, who is also employed as a transport driver for a local crèche, appeared in court on 8 October 2025.
According to reports, the incident occurred on 25 September 2025, when Mongalo dropped the child off at her home.
The victim later complained of pains in her private parts , and when questioned by her grandmother, she pointed to Mongalo as the perpetrator.
The grandmother took the child to a hospital, where medical examinations confirmed that she had been raped.
Mongalo, who is also the husband of the crèche owner, was arrested shortly after the incident.
He is expected to return to court on Friday, 10 October 2025, to continue with his bail application.
