POLOKWANE– Dudu Zuma-Sambudla, a prominent member of the MK Party, has been ordered to publicly apologize to the party’s Secretary-General, Floyd Shivambu, after a series of scathing remarks posted on her X (formerly Twitter) account.

Zuma-Sambudla, daughter of former President Jacob Zuma, took to social media to attack Shivambu, describing him as “the worst thing that has happened to the party.”

The controversy erupted following a string of heated posts, in which Zuma-Sambudla made derogatory comments about Shivambu. One post even included a profane message directed at him, saying, “F*ck you.” These attacks have sparked outrage within party ranks and led to calls for disciplinary action.

In response to the outbursts, the MK Party issued a statement ordering Zuma-Sambudla to issue a public apology to Shivambu and the party’s leadership.

She is also required to apologize to the party structures for her conduct. Additionally, Zuma-Sambudla will be subjected to internal disciplinary hearings, where the possibility of further sanctions, including expulsion from the party, will be explored.

The party’s leadership has made it clear that failure to comply with the apology and disciplinary process will result in the termination of Zuma-Sambudla’s membership and her recall from all party activities.

This move highlights the MK Party’s commitment to upholding respect and unity within its ranks, even when confronted with high-profile internal disagreements.
