GA-SEKGOPO – The community of Ga-Sekgopo has been struck by yet another unexplained death after an elderly man was found lifeless near his neighbour’s gate on Monday, 08 December.
According to residents in the Ga-Ramogakwa section, the man was discovered early in the morning, lying motionless close to the gate.
Neighbours immediately alerted emergency services upon noticing that he was unresponsive.
Preliminary observations suggest that the elderly man may have collapsed during the night, as no immediate signs of foul play were detected at the scene.
Paramedics arrived shortly after being called but sadly declared the man deceased.
Limpopo SAPS has confirmed that a postmortem will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death, and further investigations are underway.
This incident comes shortly after another widely discussed case in the area, where a man died at a local tavern following interactions with friends. The situation sparked rumours that he passed away after hugging a friend.
However, the family of the deceased firmly dismissed these claims, clarifying that he died of natural causes. They explained that he hugged several people that day, which they now believe may have been his way of saying goodbye before collapsing.
The community has expressed concern over the recent string of unexpected deaths. Police have urged residents to remain calm while investigations proceed, assuring the public that all cases will be thoroughly examined.
