The Old School R&B Brunch is coming back to South Africa, with events in Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town in October and November 2026, IOL reported.
The South African shows are part of the brunch’s global tour. The first event takes place in Durban on Saturday, 24 October 2026, at The Villa.
The tour then moves to Johannesburg on 25 October. IOL did not name the venue for the Johannesburg event.
The last stop is Cape Town on Sunday, 1 November 2026. That event will be held at Cabo Beach.
This year’s theme is called Heartbreak to High Notes. It looks back at the R&B music of the 1990s and the early 2000s.
According to IOL, the theme covers the songs people fell in love to and the songs they played after a breakup. It also includes the upbeat tracks that filled dance floors in those years.
The playlist is built around slow jams, emotional love songs and heartbreak anthems. These are the kinds of songs a whole crowd can sing along to, IOL said.
The organisers do not plan a quiet sit-down meal. Each event mixes old-school music with food, interactive games and live hosting.
There are also crowd-led moments during the day. IOL said the aim is for guests to take part in the fun instead of just sitting back and listening.
The report described the events as having a high-energy party feel. Music is the main draw, but the games and hosting add a social side to the outing.
IOL said the format suits groups of friends who want a different kind of day out. It is also aimed at fans who want to hear the songs from their younger years again.
The tour route starts on the KwaZulu-Natal coast in Durban. It then heads inland to Johannesburg before it ends in the Western Cape.
The three cities give music fans in different parts of the country a chance to attend. The Durban and Johannesburg events fall on the same weekend, one day apart.
Fans in Cape Town will have to wait one more week. Their event closes the South African leg of the tour.
Tickets for all three events are on sale through the Utickets platform at utickets.app, according to IOL.
