Grace Mondlana won two prizes, including Samsung Galaxy Creator of the Year, at the 2026 Samsung Galaxy Content Creator Awards, Bona reported.
Mondlana also took home the Trendsetter Award. Vafa Naraghi was the other big winner of the night. Naraghi won the Best Social Series Award and the Thumbstopping Award.
The ceremony was held at The Galleria in Sandton. Comedian Mpho “Popps” Modikoane hosted the evening.
The awards honoured creators in 20 categories, according to Bona. These ranged from comedy and music to branded content, social series and automotive content.
The event brought together creators, entertainers, industry leaders and brand partners. Well-known digital stars and newer creators were both in the room, the magazine said.
Mama Ka Lo, whose real name is Sizakele Ndaba, opened the show. Dan Corder appeared in a video skit later in the evening.
Lasizwe and Cedric Fourie also took part in an Awkward Dates skit. Bona said the skits brought plenty of laughs to the night.
Six nominees in the 947 Sound of Tomorrow category sang a special music medley together. They were Chesrae Megan, Carter Najar, Lordkez, Lukiemusic, Mikhalé Jones and Teagan’s Things.
The dance nominees also shared the stage for a live performance. Chad Jones, Benny Jnr, Ludopie, Rudi Smit and TDO Thando danced in the item.
Benny Jnr, who was also a nominee, created the moves for that dance. He came back on stage for the finale that closed the show.
Familiar faces from entertainment and media handed out the awards. Mondlana was one of them, along with Devi Govender, Lesego Tlhabi, Donovan Goliath and Nadia Jaftha.
Other presenters included Reece Meyer, Courtnaé Paul, Ndabe Zondi, Banele Ndaba, Sphokuhle N, Lebo Lion, Twala Ng’ambi and Lorraine Landon.
People from the brand partners also presented awards. They were Rae Hargreaves and Kayleigh Weelson from Samsung, and Tebatso Boholo from BYD.
Nicole Capper from Cars.co.za and Inga Fundakubi from Telkom were also among the presenters.
This year was the start of the awards’ partnership with Samsung Galaxy, Bona reported. The magazine said the deal recognises the part technology plays in how creators capture, edit and share their work.
