Singer Lwah Ndlunkulu has been admitted to a medical facility for a procedure. Her record label said she will miss all her shows for the next two weeks.
The news came from Inkabi Records, the label founded by rapper Big Zulu. It shared an official statement on social media on Friday, 9 October.
“Inkabi Records would like to inform all fans, promoters, and relevant stakeholders that Lwah Ndlunkulu has been admitted to a medical facility to undergo a medical procedure. As a result, she will be unavailable for the next two weeks, starting with this weekend’s shows in Bloemfontein and onwards,” the statement read.
The label did not say what kind of procedure the singer is having. It said her health and well-being come first.
“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and kindly ask for everyone’s understanding and support during this time. We wish her a successful procedure and a speedy recovery,” the label said.
According to News24, many fans were caught off guard by the news. They filled social media with messages of love and support for the singer.
Lwah’s real name is Lwandile Mtshali. Big Zulu discovered her, and she is known as the First Lady of Nkabi Nation.
In about three years, she has won several awards and released a platinum album. She has also had a number of hit songs on the charts.
In 2024 she won Artist of the Year at both the Metro FM Music Awards and the Basadi in Music Awards. She also won Most Streamed Song.
Her first album, Imizwa, came out in November 2023. A deluxe version followed on Women’s Day in 2024.
She first became well known through Big Zulu’s song uMuzi eSandton. Her own hits include Ngiyeza, Mnakwethu and Ithuba, which won her Song of the Year.
Before her music career took off, she worked as a waitress. She stayed in Big Zulu’s studio and worked on her music until her big chance came.
On 28 August 2026, she and MaWhoo released Isithembu, a maskandi album, as the duo Zulu Queens. The album had to be recorded twice because the first recordings were lost.
She told News24’s TRUELOVE that working with MaWhoo felt natural because of the shared energy in the studio.
She also appeared on Big Zulu’s album Umkhulu, which came out in May 2026. She performed with other Inkabi Records artists at its listening session at Emperor’s Palace.
Her management team said it will keep the public informed about her progress. Promoters and event organisers have been asked to take note that she will miss shows in Bloemfontein and beyond.
