MARIVENI – Law enforcement officers from the Greater Tzaneen Municipality (GTM) have arrested two Somali nationals in Mariveni Village for operating a spaza shop using fraudulent documents.
All spaza shops in the municipality are required to be registered and comply fully with municipal regulations and by-laws. Operating a business with falsified documents is a criminal offence and will not be tolerated.
The suspects were taken to Letsitele Police Station for further processing and investigation. Municipal officials also closed the shop and confiscated the keys while the case is being handled by the police and municipal authorities.
The two individuals are expected to appear in court in the coming days.
