12 killed in horror Sekgopo crash to be laid to rest in mass funeral at Tiyani Village

TIYANI VILLAGE– The mass funeral service of the twelve congregants who tragically lost their lives in a horrific crash on the R81 near Ga-Sekgopo will take place this Saturday, 4 October 2025, at Roman Tigers Sports Ground in Tiyani Village, Collins Chabane Local Municipality.

The victims were returning from a church service in Sebayeng Village when the devastating collision involving two heavy-duty trucks and a minibus taxi occurred on Sunday, 28 September 2025.

The deceased have been identified as Agnes Sambo, Collen Maluleke, Tyron Daphney Mabasa, Rose Mawela, Tintswalo Rose Nemurangoni, Masingita Mavhongo, Sarila Kayanene, Livhuwani Sarila, Tsakani Joyce Chauke, Gift Ngwenyama, Grace Baloyi, and Noko Rose.

Limpopo Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba is expected to join families and community members during the mass funeral to pay her respects to the victims of this heartbreaking tragedy.

The accident has left the province mourning and has reignited calls for intensified road safety measures along the busy R81 route.
