MOLALANE VILLAGE-Police in Hoedspruit made a gruesome discovery on Saturday when they found a woman’s remains buried inside a house in Molalane village Ga Sekororo in Maruleng Municipality.
Intensified police investigation and search resulted in discovering the remains in a shallow grave inside two separate bags of 12,5 maize meal. The remains were cut into two pieces, with hands tight and a mouth wrapped with clothes. The remains were exhumed inside the house and identified to be of a woman believed to be between the age of 22 – 24 years old.
According to the report, it is alleged that the father told his daughter that he buried his fortune (money) inside trunk in the house and they mustn’t exhume it until he instructed them to do. He since left the area in 2017 and the Tribal Authority instructed the family that they decided to allocate the stand to someone else since there is no one who is staying there. The mother then instructed his son to and digg out the trunk full of money. On Thursday went to the scene and discovered a human’s remains. He left scene traumatized, unable to speak and locked himself inside his parent’s home. On Saturday he reveals his shocking incident to her mother, who then reported the matter to the Tribal Authority, they then called police, who immediately went to the scene. When they got to the house, they found the woman’s remains in her twenties.
Pathology results will reveal whose remains is it, but it is believed to belong to a nearby resident who was reported missing on 14 May 2014. DNA test will be conducted with the family to determine her identity. Police are busy with investigation and no arrest have been made.
