WATCH | Police launch manhunt for a group of suspects after cash-in-transit heist at Nkambako Village

NKAMBAKO VILLAGE-Limpopo police are searching for a group of suspects after a cash-in-transit heist along Giyani to Letsitele road at Nkambako village, next to the four ways stop on Friday, December 3 at around 16:45.

A road user was shot seven times on the chest and his right arm and he was transported to the hospital for medical treatment.

The three security guards sustained minor injuries.

Letsitele Police Communication Officer Warrant Officer Shivambo told Tzaneen Voice that a Fidelity cash van was travelling from Tzaneen to collect and deliver cash to and from registered shops around the Letsitele area together with his two co-workers when a white Toyota Bakkie unknown number plate rammed into them.

“Both motor vehicles rolled. Suddenly two Ford rangers metallic blue and green stopped behind, more than 10 suspects armed with firearms came out from the two Ranger motor vehicles wearing baklavas. Suspects shot the motor vehicle transporting money.

Security guards heard a voice speaking in Zulu instructing them to come out of the motor vehicle. Suspects forced the complainant and his co-workers to come out from motor vehicles without their firearms. They were forced to lie down away from security motor vehicles pointed with firearms. Suspects took two rifles and one revolver firearm and Cell phones.

After taking money suspects blasted the Fidelity cash van together with the Toyota bakkie.

Suspects are unknown at this stage and Investigation is continuing.
