VW polo hijacked in Pharare, recovered in a business robbery in Ga-Sekgopo

GA-SEKGOPO-A VW polo that was hijacked by four suspects on Makapan road at Pharare village under Greater Tzaneen was found in a business robbery.

It is reported that police attached to the Tzaneen Tracing team and Mopani tracing Team were driving along R81 road at Sekgopo village on Tuesday at around 14:00 when they received a complaint from the community members about a Business robbery in progress in the post office, at Sekgopo Global filling station.

It further reported that police drove to the said post office and upon arrival at the post office, A black vw polo hatchback with registration number RBN 249bGP was found parked at the Filling station.

When the suspects realized that the police have arrived, They came out of the post office carrying Plastic money bags and firearms and tried to jump into the black polo.

Two suspects were arrested on the spot, while 3 still at large.

And the vehicle was blocked in Infront and they jumped off and continue running on foot, and the money bags were dropped off just next to the vehicle and they ran to the nearest bushes in different directions.

Police continued chasing the suspects while calling for backups from Mopani LHP and one suspect start firing shots towards the members The members retaliated by firing back and the suspect surrendered his firearm and was immediately arrested.

Rossi revolver with the serial number filed off,3 live ammunition, 2X Spend Empty cartridges, 4 live ammunition and an Amount of R290000-00(two hundred eighty thousand)was recovered.

While at the scene of the crime, the second suspect was arrested with assistance from local community members.

And two suspects aged 34 and 39 were arrested for Business robbery, Possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and attempted murder as per the following cell numbers.
