VUWANI – A 50-year-old man has been apprehended in Tshimbupfe village in connection with a house robbery and rape that occurred in Mbhalati village on Saturday, April 12, 2025.
The arrest was made on Friday, April 25, 2025, following an intelligence-driven joint operation conducted by Malamulele Detectives.
Police reports indicate that the suspect allegedly broke into the victim’s residence at approximately 7:00 PM, threatened her with a knife, and subsequently raped her.
Acting Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Major General Samuel Manala, commended the police teams involved for their swift and professional execution of the operation. He emphasized the dedication of the police in ensuring the safety and dignity of all residents, particularly victims of gender-based violence.
The suspect is scheduled to appear before the Vuwani Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
Police have confirmed that investigations into the matter are ongoing.
