MARIVENI: A man was crushed and killed by a Tractor – Loader – Backhoes [ TLB ] at Mariveni village in Greater Tzaneen on Monday night.
An eyewitness told Tzaneen Voice that the deceased was on top of the loader, holding a touch, allegedly lighting up as the TLB had no lights, while two men were inside.
The heavy vehicle then hit a hump and the man fell from the loader and was consequently ran over by the tractor and died instantly.
The two men in the tractor were alerted of the incident by one community member but ran away from the scene.
Ritavi Police were called to the scene and emergency personnel were called to the scene.
Police say the identity of the deceased is unknown at this stage.
