TZANEEN-The Police in Tzaneen through an intelligence-driven operation arrested a 43-year-old male undocumented foreign national for unlawful possession of illicit drugs and contravention of the immigration act on Tuesday, 05 December 2023 at Tzaneen in Mopani District.
It is reported that members of the Provincial Organised Crime Investigation Unit received information about a motor vehicle white Toyota Etios with registration number FPD 344 L that was allegedly doing deliveries of illicit drugs within Tzaneen CBD.
The team operationalized the information received and while driving in the town of Tzaneen at 10:00 in the morning of Tuesday, 05 December 2023, they spotted a vehicle at a parking lot that matched the description of the suspicious motor vehicle in question upon searching in the car the police discovered nine sachets and one big plastic parcel of crystal meth and a small plastic bag containing Kat.
The suspect arrested was found to be illegal in the Republic of South Africa and the value of the drugs confiscated is estimated at R 10
000.
The suspect is expected to appear before Tzaneen Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 07 December 2023.
