TZANEEN- The fugitive Molate Peter Thako (34), who escaped from the Tzaneen Correctional center while working at the agricultural section of the center has been recaptured. Thako is serving 3 years sentence for housebreaking and theft.
His re-arrest comes after a case of escape was opened against him by Tzaneen Correctional center and will therefore serve two compounded sentences.
The communication manager at Correctional services under Polokwane Management Area Sachiel Nemafhohoni confirmed to Tzaneen Voice that the fugitive was re-arrested at Bridge Way by Tzaneen police officers, where he has been hiding.
“We would like to thank members of the community for heeding our advice for not approaching the offender, but to inform the Police, working together can help to curb crimes in our communities,” Nemafhohoni said.
