MAVALANI VILLAGE-Giyani police launched a manhunt for suspects who attacked two RJT tech employees, damaged two state motor vehicles and injured two police officers in the village of Mavalani in Greater Giyani.
According to the report, two people who are believed to be from RJT TECH Company were seen fixing the Vodacom tower on Thursday, 30 March, at around 06:00 am.
A group of community members approached them believing that they might be thieves who want to steal the batteries from the tower. They threatened to kill them and accused them of being responsible for stealing batteries from the tower.
Police were summoned to the scene immediately. Upon their arrival, they managed to rescue them.
While questioning them, it was discovered that indeed the two males work for RTJ Tech Company in partnership with Vodacom.
Giyani police condemned the conduct of residents of the villagers and appeal to anyone with information that can assist to arrest the perpetrators.
