CAROIUSEL- A tragic incident occurred on Friday night, January 18th, just before midnight, on the N1 Northbound between Carousel Plaza and the Maubane Ramp.
A minibus taxi was spiked, leading to a robbery and a deadly shooting.
According to eyewitness accounts, armed suspects targeted the minibus taxi, robbing passengers of their belongings. A confrontation ensued when some passengers attempted to resist the robbery.
During the altercation, the suspects opened fire, tragically killing two passengers on the scene. A third passenger sustained gunshot injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) and forensic teams were immediately dispatched to the scene to investigate the incident.
