POLOKWANE: Two Pakistani nationals, Ashan Fraz Cheema and Raza Ali are currently appearing before the Limpopo High Court: Polokwane Division for the murder of Precious Magabane
.Magabane, a Grade 3 teacher at Kabishi Primary School in Mashampthane, disappeared on the 23rd of December 2018 following an argument with her boyfriend, Cheema.
The dismembered body of the 33 – year old was found in an open veld along the Burgersfort- Lydenburg road in refuse bags that were disposed at different places while other body parts ( head and intestines) were found buried in a shallow grave.
Cheema and Ali appear on charges of murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, defeating the course of justice, unlawful possession of firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and illegal immigration.
In court, Cheema was not represented as his previous defence has withdrawn.
Malabi-Dzhangi said the trial is postponed to June 27, for Cheema to secure a defence lawyer.
The Magabane family are yet to conduct a funeral for Precious after the skeletal remains went missing in 2020 at a government mortuary in Lebowakgomo.
