PHALABORWA-Two female suspects aged 40 and 47 were arrested for operating illegal Gambling sites during the shutting down of illegal Gambling spots on Wednesday, July 26.
The operation was conducted after a thorough and lengthy investigation was conducted through an intelligence team comprising SAPS Provincial Organised Crime Investigation Unit, FLASH Unit and Limpopo Gambling Board operationalized intelligence information gathered.
During the Operation, ten suspects were nabbed for engaging in illegal Gambling activities.
Fifty illegal gambling machines have also been confiscated with cash amounting to R3000.00.
The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe applauded the collaborative efforts by the teams involved.
The suspects are expected to appear before Phalaborwa Magistrate’s Court today, Friday 28.
