Two boys drowned in Limpopo River after sneaking out to swim at Makgodu village

MAKGODU VILLAGE- Parents and guardians have been urged not to leave their children to swim without the supervision of the adults after two boys aged 12 and 13 years old were swimming together with other three boys, when they suddenly drowned in the river at Makgodu village Monday, 22 January 2024, at about 15:30.

According to the information received from the police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba,  it is reported that in the process of swimming, there was a lighting that struck, and the two boys drowned.

Ledwaba says the two deceased boys were later identified as Tebogo Mofumadi (12) and Boitumelo Tshabalala (13), and the other three survivors were taken to the nearest hospital for medical  treatment

The circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated, and the cause of the deaths will be determined by the postmortem results.

The Police in Seshego have opened two inquest dockets following the drowning incident that occurred.w
