Two arrested for being in possession of stolen avocado worth R60k at Kgapane cross

MODJADNIDKLOOF-The police in Modjadjiskloof have arrested two suspects while the other two are still under investigation for possession of stolen avocados during the stop and search on R36 at Kgapane cross.

The Suspects were caught at 19:00 driving a Toyota Hilux,

One suspect confirmed that indeed the avocados were stolen and are to be sold to market owners at Mooketsi.

According to Modjadji’s kloof communication officer Constable Mabulane Police will now start bringing more inspections and crime prevention operations around the marketplace to prevent theft of stock and goods from farmers.

“Any person found with large stock with no proof or failing to account will be arrested. We thank the good partnerships of Westfalia personnel who worked with us during the profiling and tracing of the owner of the goods”

Constable Mabulane further state that

Westfalia never ceased to work even though they discovered that the goods are not theirs. This is the kind of partnership we need to fight crime.

“More operations are to come to curb crime” he concluded
