TVET College Lecture suspected of stealing Goats burnt to death

LEBOWAKGOMO : A TVET college Educator suspected of stealing goats was killed in mob-attack incident which occurred on Saturday morning around 08:00 in Lebowakgomo.

The deceased was reportedly driving his motor vehicle in possession of an unknown number of goats that he is said to have purchased in Mamaolo, Ga-Mphahlele village.

He was stopped by a mob who suspected him of stock theft.

They then pulled him out of his motor vehicle and reportedly assaulted him severely before they burnt him in his motor vehicle.

Police were summoned to the scene and upon their arrival found a burnt bakkie and the victim lying few metres burnt beyond recognition.

The suspected stolen goats were not found at the crime scene.

The deceased is originally from Kwa-Zulu Natal province and was a resident in Lebowakgomo Zone A.

Limpopo police Spokesperson Mamphaswa Seabi said they caution members of the community to not take the law into their own hands but rather handover the suspects to the police for further police investigation and prosecution.

He added that a manhunt has since been launched for the suspects and anyone with information that can lead to their arrest is requested to contact the Investigating Officer, Sergeant Makadani on 0720297499 or crime stop number 0860010111 or nearest police station or My SAPSApp.
