NKOWANKOWA-Mathata Moloto (24) from Modubung village in Bolobedu, who allegedly disappeared into Letaba river after allegedly being snatched by unknown creature on March 18, is still unaccounted for.
According to the victim’s sister Portia Moloto, the family has been left devastated and hopeless. Speaking to Tzaneen Voice, the family recollected the events that unfolded on the fateful day of the victims’ mysterious disappearance.
“On the day my brother disappeared he was with a neighbour who is also a sangoma. They left going to perform rituals for him as an initiate at the river with fellow sangoma to our dismay, we were alerted by police later that day that he was snatched by an unknown creature but, because we didn’t see this happen we suspected foul play “, she said.
The mother who could not talk on the phone due to personal reasons, advised her children to leave no stone unturned in search of her missing son.
“We have visited seers, traditional healers and prophets alike and they all told us that my brother could be alive and kept away somewhere by the sangoma’s to use him. We need help from people who might have maybe seen him somewhere, or know how to release him from this curse to come forward with information to help us help him “, said the sister.
A case could not be opened because police said that the matter is out of their jurisdiction.
