THOHOYANDOU – Thohoyandou based singer Lutendo “McSwagga” Lavhengwa and his social media influencer girlfriend, Rendani “Rendi Gaga” Ratshipondo, have been granted bail of R700 following their recent arrest for alleged assault.
The couple, known for their regular social media presence, appeared in court last week and were released with strict conditions attached to their bail.
The bail conditions prohibit the pair from discussing the case on social media, making insulting remarks, or threatening the victim.
This comes after an incident that was triggered by a heated argument on Facebook. What initially started as a disagreement between the couple and the victim, Rofhiwa, quickly escalated into a physical altercation, which was captured in a viral video.
In the footage, Ratshipondo, a secondary school student, is seen assaulting the victim, while Lavhengwa, a tertiary student, attempts to intervene and stop the confrontation.
The assault case has gained significant attention due to the couple’s high profile, especially on social media, where they have garnered a large following.
Ratshipondo has been in the spotlight before, having shared videos that detailed her emotional struggles in her relationship with McSwagga. In one video, she tearfully addressed rumors of infidelity, while in another, she accused McSwagga of assault.
