MOTUPA- When The Look DrumKing rolls his drums, audiences get itchy to dance, while others would stare with great admiration.
The popular local drummer, born Mahlatse Lucky Monyela doesn’t only use drums for the entertainment of his fans but connects with them with dance moves that go well with the rhythm and melody of the song he would be emulating.
Hailing from Motupa Village in Bolobedu South, The Look DrumKing started toying with homemade drums at the of 9.
In 2007, he started playing the drums at local churches in Bolobedu and Tzaneen town.
After playing the drums at churches for some time, the talented drum-roller fell out of love with drums and went on to be a DJ and dancer performing at the local taverns.
“ When you are born for something in life, you can’t run away from it, in 2017 I moved to Tembisa in Gauteng and joined a certain church and that’s where I rediscovered my passion for playing drums” he said.
A year later, The Look DrumKing solidified his name both locally and in Gauteng in the music scene and went on to form a music group called The Drumboys.
