Teenager who died in alleged drag race in Seshego to be laid to rest in Tickyline

TICKYLINE-A teenage girl who was allegedly hit by a car during drag-racing in Seshego on Monday will be laid to rest today, December 09 at Tickyline village under Greater Tzaneen.

It is reported that the 15-year-old Dimpho Monareng was killed when she was hit by a car when two friends were allegedly drag-racing at Seshego Zone 4.

According to the Spokesperson for the Department of Transport and Community Safety, Tidimalo Chuene the driver of a Nissan LDV was allegedly racing when he lost control of the motor vehicle and hit a female pedestrian.

Spokesperson, Tidimalo Chuene says that it is due to reckless driving.

The Seshego police station constable Muhanelwa confirmed that the suspect has been arrested facing a charge of culpable homicide.

During a memorial held on Thursday at

Bokamoso Senior Secondary School in Seshego, she was described as a dedicated young girl full of potential.

Seshego Community Against Crime And Gangsterism Leader Vincent Kunutu says that he urges parents of Seshego and other areas to refrain from giving their unlicensed children cars.
