GA-KURANTA-A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the death of a pensioner a day after he allegedly killed an elderly woman aged 85 at Kuranta village under Mokwakwaila policing area in Bolobedu.
The 65-year-old’s body was found with gruesome stab wounds in her house yesterday morning, Tuesday 17 May 2022 at about 06h00.
The child was brought to the police station by a family member who suspected that something was amiss about him following the murder of their neighbour.
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has welcomed the arrest.
“We appreciate the conduct of the family member who brought the child to the police station as this will send a clear message that perpetrators of crime have to be subjected to the rule of law regardless of relationships and that offenders within our own families have to be reported to the police.” Said Lieutenant General Hadebe.
The child will be dealt with in accordance with the Child Justice Act.
