GA-SEKGOPO – The community of Ga-Sekgopo is still reeling from the tragic loss of 18-year-old Motsatsi Martina Ramalatso, who passed away following a mysterious incident after New Year celebrations at Moshate.
The young woman’s funeral, held this week, was an emotional and somber affair as family, friends, and loved ones gathered to mourn the loss of a vibrant life cut too short.
Motsatsi Ramalatso, a beloved daughter, sibling, and mother to a one-year-old child, died shortly after the events of the early hours of January 1, 2025.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Stephen Thakeng, the incident occurred around 3:30 AM when her uncle discovered her lying on the ground at Sekgopo Moshate.
The uncle, distressed and alarmed, rushed her to a nearby clinic after noticing that she was bleeding from her buttocks. However, the clinic was unable to provide the necessary medical care, leading to a transfer to Kgapane Hospital.
Despite the efforts to save her, Ramalatso was sadly declared dead upon arrival at Kgapane Hospital, leaving her family and the community in deep shock and mourning.
The circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear, and an inquest has been opened by the police to investigate the events that led to her untimely passing.
Ramalatso’s untimely death has left a deep void in the hearts of those who knew her. She is remembered as a kind-hearted, young woman with a bright future ahead of her, a future now stolen by tragic and inexplicable circumstances.
Her loss is especially poignant for her young daughter, who will now grow up without the loving presence of her mother, and for her grieving parents and siblings who are left to cope with the trauma.
