BOLOBEDU-A 32-year-old teacher has disappeared without a trace. Dikeledi Karel Sebopetsa, who is a teacher at Lerale Primary School, has been missing for six months now.
Her disappearance has left the teachers and learners distraught, hoping to see her walk through the school gates one day.
According to the police, the rising number of missing people that cannot be found has escalated in Bolobedu.
A statement released by the police said Sebopetsa left home going to work on the morning of September 22, 2020.
When Tzaneen Voice visited the school to find out how they are coping in her absence. The school teachers mentioned that it was hard in the first few months and it doesn’t get any easier. The colleagues are still evidently still badly affected by her disappearance.
One of the teachers at the school, Silas Phosa said, Dikeledi was a people person and dedicated to her school work. “It is still surreal to come back to school in the new year and the realization that she is still not found hits you,” he said.
The school principal Mr. Mathibela reiterated “We keep hoping she will walk through the school gates. We can’t replace her because that is the mandate of circuit management. We have designated her colleagues to her classes and the pupils seem to be coping well. We are still hoping for her safe return.” He mentioned.
The department of social development previously dispatched social workers to the school and her family to assist with pshycho social support.
