GIYANI- A taxi driver died in a head-on collision between a taxi and a truck yesterday, Friday, January 13.
The accident happened on the road between Phalaborwa and Giyani towards Ngove village at about 22h00pm.
According to the Giyani Police communication officer Sgt Ridgewell Rikhotso, it is alleged that the Taxi with registration number Fxk 816 L was travelling from Giyani to Ngove village, and the truck with registration number Bb 41 cv GP was travelling from Ngove direction to Giyani.
“The driver who lost his life was identified as Mr Dzunani Chabalala age 38 residing at Ngove village and he was the driver of a Toyota quantum” Sgt Rikhotso said
A truck driver survives the accident unharmed and he is facing a Case of Culpable homicide
The Cause of the accident is still unknown at this stage, but an ongoing investigation by the Giyani police will reveal the Cause.
The police in Giyani are investigating a Case of Culpable homicide.
