Suzan Shaai to launch her gospel album on Saturday in Namakgale

PHALABORWA- Suzan Maite Shaai, 47 who was born in Bolobedu at Kgapane will be launching her Album on Saturday, October 21 at Phosphate Ground in Namakgale.

Shaai started her Primary School at Senopelwa Primary School at Ga Matipane in Bolobedu. This is where her love for singing started. She sang at the school assembly. She went to Masopha High School and later went to Sebalamakgolo High School in Phalaborwa. She then matriculated at Mpedi Bapedi High School in 1995.

In 1996 she studied business management at Lowveld College. Shaai can be described as a hustler. She worked in several places such as Pick n Pay as a cleaner, Juba’s restaurant and Namakgale Pharmacy.

She is also a businesswoman who designs and sews bedding, curtains and dresses. The business also gave birth to Deco and Catering called Jan Suzi Events and Deco. She now has a confectionery bakery in Namakgale.

She has employed a total number of 21 people in her businesses combined. She is a member of Zion Christian Church where she also leads the choir.

The gospel singer is married to Jan Shaai and they are blessed with one beautiful daughter. Singing to her has been her childhood dream. She further explained that she dreamt of singing in a stadium, and from there she told herself this a career that she would choose and pursue.
She was encouraged by Paul Mandla Mokoena.

Shaai will be sharing a stage with artists such as Dr Winnie Mashaba, Dr Rosylin Sathekge, Conny Lamola, Mashao Sedibeng, Tau dia Rora, Motlanalo Rammalo, Pinkie Phetja, Mandla Mokoena, Pleasure tsa Manyalo, Myna Rams and Maureen Nhlane during her album launch as part of supporting her.

Tickets for the event are sold at Shoprite. Her message to women is that “expose your talent, don’t hide it because God has blessed you to use it to benefit society.” she added.

She also encourages women to stand up for themselves and work hard as that will give them a good reputation. She concluded by saying women should be united in all spheres of life to build a better nation.
