PHARARE VILLAGE-A Sunbake truck was hijacked by four men in Pharare village outside Makhubidung in Greater Tzaneen while it was delivering bread to the area.
The incident occurred at approximately 16:30 this afternoon. According to reports, the driver of the truck was ambushed by the suspects, two of whom were reportedly armed.
The hijackers, after taking control of the truck, robbed the driver and his assistant (referred to as the “Condi”). Fortunately, the driver managed to escape unharmed, and both he and the Condi were left at the scene.
The driver then managed to reach the Maake SAPS (South African Police Service) station, where he reported the incident.
Law enforcement teams, including SAPS, have been activated to investigate the crime and track down the suspects.
Authorities have urged anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the hijackers to come forward.
