Spotlight on Mental health as suicide claims three professionals

POLOKWANE: The mental health of is yet again back in the limelight following yet another deadly week in the Province of Limpopo.

Over the past seven days or so, the health and education sector of the province lost three professionals due to deaths that could have been avoided.

This as a teacher, Simon Dikgale and two doctors, Dr Mainfred Shikwambane and wife Dr Tshimangadzo Muofhe all died within the space of a week.

Dikgale took his own life by hanging himself at Biko Park in Seshego last week Tuesday.

On Monday, the two doctors also lost their lives after Dr Shikwambane allegedly shot Dr Moufhe at their residential home of Thornhill Estate in Bendor, Polokwane.

Dikgale was remembered in a memorial service at Ga – Mamabolo while the two doctors will be remembered in a separate memorial service in Thohoyandou and Polokwane respectively.
