LENYENYE: Six people are set to appear before the Lenyenye Magistrate’s Court from 9am this morning.
This after they were arrested for the assault of a police officer attached to the Maake Police Station on Friday night.
It is alleged that on Friday night, there were people who went to the Maake Police Station to open a case, however, one of those people was bleeding and Police advised them to go to the clinic first before coming to the police station.
They then went to the clinic and on their arrival coming back from the clinic, they forced themselves into the police station and assaulted the police officer who was in charge.
The reasons for the assault are unknown at this stage, however six people have been arrested.
Ward councillor, Caiphus Mabitsela has called on community members not to resort to violence in solving issues.
