PIET RETIEF – A bakkie belonging to Sive Atchaar was involved in a collision on the N2 near Piet Retief on Thursday morning, marking the second such incident for the company this month.
This accident follows a similar one on Tuesday, August 13, when another delivery vehicle from Sive Atchaar collided with a minibus taxi on the N4 near Lynnville.
The aftermath of that crash saw traffic brought to a standstill, with buckets of atchaar scattered across the highway. Nearby community members quickly began looting the scene, seizing the opportunity to grab the popular product.
In a surprising turn of events, the owner of Sive Atchaar, who was reportedly present at the scene, took to social media to express a positive outlook on the situation.
Despite the loss of product, he seemed to find comfort in the enthusiastic response from those who sampled the atchaar, unknowingly in his presence.
“People enjoyed the Atchaar in Witbank on the N4 today. We have lost the product, but on the positive side, it was nice to hear people praising our Atchaar, not knowing I am there,” he posted online.
This incident has drawn mixed reactions from the public, with some appreciating the owner’s optimism, while others expressed concern over the frequency of such accidents involving Sive Atchaar vehicles.
