Sepedi Music awards CEO steps down

POLOKWANE-Sepedi Music Awards today announced that after 5 years of leadership, its Founder, Mr Matodzi Makananisa has decided to step down from his role as CEO. Makananisa steered the ship expertly since inception to the giant that the SEMA now.

In a statement issued this morning, July 27, state that Makananisa, who is wearing too many hats, feels the time is right to pass on the baton.

Makananisa is now heading a number of projects at national level, including the newly established South African Academy Awards

“My job is done here. This day was always going to come. It was only a matter of time. I believe together with the team we have given our best and the results are there for everyone to see,” says Makananisa

Sepedi Music Awards turns 5 years this year and a big celebration has been planned to mark this momentous occasion with a brand-new car up for grabs.

Sepedi Music Awards are the only Awards in Limpopo to run 5 years on the trot. Consistency has been key in its success and for the past 5 years Musicians have been recognized annually without fail.

“As part of his vision to open the industry, we have also seen a popular co-host competition unearthing raw talent of presenters who have gone on to make a mark in the industry”

“This is the pride of Bapedi nation and it can only get better from here. We have set the bar high. This year we are giving away a brand-new car to the overall winner to celebrate 5 years of excellence.”

The opening of nominations will be announced in the coming days which will be followed by activations around Limpopo to officially mark 5 years of SEMA.
