School resident Pastor assaulted grade 12 learner for being late for Sunday church service

MOHLALETSI : A resident pastor and educator at St Peter’s Combined Christian School in Mohlaletsi village in the Sekhukhune District is in hot water for assaulting a matric learner.

The resident pastor, identified as Diketso Matibidi allegedly assaulted a Grade 12 learner who was late for a Sunday church service on the 12th of November.

In a statement released to the media on Tuesday, the school says it has instituted a disciplinary hearing against the educator.

“The parent of the student involved ( in the assault) has been contacted and a disciplinary hearing against the pastor is currently underway, said the school.

“The student will also undergo a medical assessment and the incident has been reported to the Police,” the school continued.

“We want to express our strong disapproval of Mr Matibidi’s behaviour, and we will address it with the seriousness it deserves”, the statement read.

The Pastor has been suspended.
