GA-RAPITSI- Over 250 learners at Sefaong primary will now walk with pride and dignity to school following a donation of school shoes by Sasol Energies in partnership with N-O-S-A and Sunbake on Saturday, March 02.
The school is located at Ga-Rapitsi in Kgapane under Greater Letaba.
The items donated during the ceremony included shoes, a jersey, socks, a tracksuit set, pants for boys and tunics for girls, as well as a school bag.
According to Sasol Manager Communication and Events Khosi Thabethe the initiative is part of the Mzansi Tour campaign which was launched In October 2023, the Sasol Social Impact unit, together with the franchisee network – Sasol Tzaneen have partnered, under the Friendly Neighbour Programme, to provide school uniforms, to 500 less fortunate learners to ensure not only children don’t compete with attire in the classroom but economic differences between each other are downplayed.
“This outreach is in line with Sasol’s commitment to giving back to our fenceline communities and making impact in the communities surrounding our areas of operation.” Thabethe said
Sasol’s Friendly Neighbour concept is a social impact initiative developed in partnership with franchise owners to improve fenceline communities surrounding Sasol’s RCCs.
Sasol evaluates franchisee ideas for community upliftment and matches the franchisee proposal or co-created concept after approval.
