POLOKWANE: Polokwane Police have confirmed to our sister newspaper Polokwane Weekly that a case of murder has been opened after one person was shot dead by a man who was jogging at Flora Park suburb in Polokwane on Tuesday morning.
.It is alleged that three young men armed with knives attempted to rob a man who was jogging.
Unknown to them, the man had a gun with him and shot one of the attackers and killed him instantaneously.
Two other robbers managed to escape unharmed, the suspect who was shot by the victim, was declared dead on the scene. Police have opened an inquest docket and are investigating complaints of attempted armed robbery.
The other attackers are still at large, and the police are appealing to anyone who might have information about them to contact the Polokwane police or the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111. Information may also be communicated via the My SAPS app or SMS number 32211 to remain anonymous.
