NAMAKGALE-Anglican Church in Namakgale has officially installed a new Priest, Reverend Tebogo Respeito at a ceremony on Sunday.
Dignitaries present at the occasion were the Mayor of Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality Cllr Meriam Malatji, accompanied by Cllr Joe Mamphuru, Cllr Lebo Matlala, Cllr Buffalo Nyathi and Cllr Richard Makasela.
Reverend Tebogo Respeito joined the St Luke Parish Phalaborwa Ministry as the Rector effective from January 2023.
Mayor, Cllr Merriam Malatji said it is not an accident for the Pastor to have been called to serve this congregation under the auspices of the Anglican church in Ba-Phalaborwa
Municipality. Mayor Malatji says the almighty God uses his chosen servants like you to perform his functionality.
She further said that churches have an instrumental role to play in our communities such as praying for the scourge of Gender Based Violence (GBV), substance abuse by our children and crime as well as corruption.
She called upon all the Pastors Fraternity and Christians in Phalaborwa to continue praying for peace and stability in our Municipality.
Mayor added that for the church to achieve its ultimate goals, the leadership of the church and fellow Christians must work together.
