KHUJWANA-Residents at Khujwana village are cautioned to be on the lookout for and steer clear of a hippo which was spotted at the local dam on Tuesday afternoon.
The residents have alerted SAPS together with the local conservation practitioners in the area, and a private security company that assists with wildlife issues.
It reported that residents are collaborating with these stakeholders to monitor the movements of the hippo.
The hippo is among the most dangerous animals in the world due to its highly aggressive and unpredictable nature.
To date, the hippo has not caused any damage nor posed a threat to any human or animal lives.
