POLOKWANE – In a harrowing incident, a baby was saved and resuscitated after being thrown into a toilet by its mother in the New Forest area, outside the town of Thulamahashe in Mpumalanga province.

The incident unfolded when an eighteen-year-old girl, after giving birth alone, disposed of the newborn in a pit toilet. Neighbors, alarmed by the continuous cries of the baby, confronted the young woman, known to be pregnant. She admitted to giving birth and discarding the baby in the toilet.

Emergency rescue workers were quickly called to the scene. Using a TLB machine, they demolished the toilet structure to retrieve the baby, managing to rescue the infant before it succumbed to the dire situation.
