The renowned gospel artist legend and pastor Benjamin Dube has unexpectedly parted ways with the famous gospel group Spirit of Praise collective.

Dube announced his departure from the gospel music group on Monday, 14 April 2025, after an illustrious career of producing spirited songs that elevated the genre in the music industry.

In a press statement he said the decision to part with Spirit Music group didn’t come lightly, as the group pivoted his journey for years.

“ This decision was not made lightly, as Spirit of Praise has been an important part of my  ministry journey over the years. Through this platform, countless lives have been touched, worship has been elevated, and the message of Christ has reached multitudes both locally and globally.

“However, as seasons change, so do assignments. I believe that the time has come to focus fully on the next phase of my calling, which includes expanding my personal ministry, mentoring the next generation of gospel artists, and pursuing projects aligned with the unique mandate God has placed on my life, “ Dube said.

Dube further thanked the owners of the Spirit Music group , Aubrey Peacock and Matthew Nkabinde, for the years of fruitful partnership, mutual respect, and impactful ministry.

On his journey in the group as the stage leader, the spirit of praise released quite a number of volume albums and mentored gospel artists such as the late Neyi Zimu, Dumi Mokostad, Lebo Sekgobela, Zaza and others.

Dube says he bows out of the group with nothing but love and appreciation.
